Traffic management centers are one of the most common ITS tools employed by local and regional agencies. They have varying levels of staffing and technical capability across the Los Angeles region. TMCs allow for command and control of traffic signals, CCTV cameras, message signs and other elements and some are moving to the ability to share data and in some cases limited control with other agencies. The IEN and RIITS can be helpful in supporting data sharing and control.
